Both of us are considered heritage artists. Heritage arts are recognized as the skills that parents used to teach their children that were needed in pioneer times to run a household and a homestead. For women, it was things such as: sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, weaving, and tatting to name a few. These were used to create utilitarian as well as beautiful items for the home. For the men, it would be things such as welding, carpentry and woodworking that would be used to build a home, and keep a homestead running.
